IUHealth reported that in 2014, more than 15.6 million people have gone under the knife. This showed an increase of 3% compared to 2013.
Many of the procedures performed were surgical but the rest were minimally invasive procedures like chemical peels and Botox injections.
However, it’s not just this kind of surgery that is making the rounds. Nowadays, people are more open about completely altering their gender.
Sexual reassignment surgery is a procedure that both alters an individual’s physical appearance and the function of their s3x organs.
People who undergo this type of surgery are commonly referred to as transsexuals.
Medical Daily reported that in Thailand (dubbed the gender reassignment capital of the world), these surgeries allegedly cost about one-third the price of those performed in the U.S.
