[Trending Now] Read This Heartbreaking Story of a Father Who Was Abandoned by His Own Daughter in a Hospital in Las Piñas!

In the Philippines, much regard and respect are given to the elderly. They are rarely left alone in nursing homes. Instead, the elderly are taken care of at home by their own family members.

Filipinos are very family-oriented so it comes as a surprise to find an old man who was abandoned by his own daughter outside the waiting area of Las Piñas District Hospital. 

According to Definitely Filipino, Facebook user Regine Antuerpia shared a status update on March 14 featuring the story of Alfredo Garcia. She found Garcia slumped in a chair inside Las Piñas District Hospital’s waiting area. 

The old man had been reportedly lying there for almost a month after his own daughter abandoned him. 

Antuerpia shared that he hasn’t been eating properly as he was only asking for water from the people passing him by. 

ABS-CBN News reported that Antuerpia’s post has already garnered 20,012 shares as of March 16, 11 p.m. They also reported that the old man had a stroke and is suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis. 

According to Victoria Espaltero, the Head of the Medical Social Services in Las Piñas District Hospital, “base doon sa records, pinauwi po siya ng February 14 o 15, so binalik ito uknowingly sa hospital, dinereto lang po sa waiting area, hindi po nila inano sa ER.” 

“Tinatawagan po iyong kapatid sa phone ng naiwan pati po iyong anak, hindi na po ayaw nila pong talaga kunin,” Espaltero added.

However, due to the concerns of netizens who saw Antuerpia’s post, the old man is currently confined to an unspecified hospital. Garcia shared that he is extremely grateful for all of the help he has received.
