John Paul Guido Boucher Scherrer, publicly known as ‘John Regala,’ was last seen in the hit primetime drama-action series ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ playing the role of Congressman Randolph Subito.
He briefly appeared on the series in 2016 and, since then, has not been heard from since. John is renowned for his antagonistic roles in television and movies, particularly during the 90s. He was even unofficially tagged as a “bad boy” alongside Robin Padilla and Ace Vergel.
John began his career in showbiz when he became a teen member of ‘That’s Entertainment,’ a hit television show in the mid-80s. He appeared in action movies with Rudy Fernandez, among others.
He potentially had a bright acting career ahead of him but got heavily addicted to drugs instead. John was also awarded the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award in the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival in the movie ‘Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story,’ a portrayal of the real-life story of Nicasio “Asiong” Salonga, one of the Philippines’ most notorious gangsters.
Apart from ‘Ang Probinsiyano,’ he also appeared in ‘Dyesebel’ as Badong Manansala, in ‘Juan dela Cruz’ as Agor, in ‘Ina, Kapatid, Anak’ as Mio Buenaventura, in ‘Captain Barbell’ as Mayor Lazaro, and in the 2005 version of ‘Encantandia’ as Apitong.
He also appeared in the indie movie ‘Zombading: Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington’ with Mart Escudero.
After his heavy drug abuse, John entered a drug rehabilitation center and became a Born Again Christian.
After which, he turned into a Christian minister. Currently, he’s an environmentalist, working as the president and CEO of Project Green Evolution, Inc.
