It's official!
For the first time since the dating rumors began, 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach finally confirmed being in a relationship with Formula 1 race car driver Marlon Stockinger.
According to a news item published by ABS-CBN, Pia officially admitted that she is in a romantic relationship with the Filipino-Swiss model. The beauty queen shared the news during a live interview with ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo. She proudly affirmed that she already found someone who can support her with everything that she does.
"We are together," the 27-year old beauty queen confirmed on Monday.
"I’m glad that I finally met somebody who’s very secure with himself and who understands my job, and who’s not afraid to let me have my moment such as right now, now that the competition is happening here," Wurtzbach told ABS-CBN.
Wurtzbach then enumerated her similarities with Stockinger which included their Filipino blood and religious beliefs.
"I’m also happy with the fact that he’s a Filipino and that he’s also a Catholic. I think we have a lot of things in common" she added.
The queen also proudly shared some private things about Stockinger. She said that her 25-year-old boyfriend is very funny as she enjoys his jokes all the time. Wurtzbach also shared that Stockinger knows everything about her, including those things that she is not comfortable sharing with anybody else.
Moreover, the queen also claimed that her 'love status' has the blessing of the people around her. According to her, the Miss Universe Organization approved her new journey with Stockinger.
"Esther (Swan, her manager) approves, that’s the number one thing,” she said. “Paula (Shugart, Miss Universe president) likes him, Esther likes him, the Miss Universe Organization likes him. That’s a huge relief on my part because, whew, I don’t have to worry.” Pia said.
In a report released by ABS-CBN, Wurtzbach spent the holidays with Stockinger in Hawaii. Wurtzbach then returned in Manila for the pre-pageant activities and coronation night of Miss Universe 2017.
Meanwhile, in an interview during the Star Magic Ball last October 2016, Stockinger confirmed that he is seeing Wurtzbach but they wanted to keep it on the down low.
