[Trending Now] Sen. Pacquiao and Cayetano Team Up to Terminate EJK Hearing: 'There is No Reason to Continue This Committee Meeting Tomorrow.'

Senators Manny Pacquiao and Alan Peter Cayetano wants to end the hearing on extrajudicial killings due to low and questionable credibility of witnesses presented in the Senate.

The hearing, which was headed previously by Senator Leila de Lima, was criticized due to its credibility especially when former Davao Death Squad member Edgar Matobato was presented.

Pacquiao believes the hearing was useless because of the low and questionable credibility of witnesses who testified in the Senate.

“We call the witnesses tapos nilalayasan lang tayo.  I believe there is no reason to continue this committee meeting tomorrow.” Manny Pacquiao told committee head Richard Gordon.

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano backs Pacquiao in his suggestion to end the investigation on extrajudicial killings.

But Gordon did not grant their request, saying the hearings would be put to recess until further notice to give Senators some time to clarify things.

The 13 hour Senate hearing ends when Senator Leila De Lima walked out in the Senate after Gordon accused her of concealing materials for the hearing.
