Kapamilya actress Jodi Sta. Maria is about to put her name in the international field of acting as the drama veteran is nominated to receive the prestigious 44th International Emmy Awards for Best Actress.
Sta. Maria’s portrayal of Amor Powers in the 2015 version of drama series Pangako Sa’Yo, was recognized by the international panel. The actress was with the popular teen love-team Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo in the said TV show.
The 34-year old actress is up against other international actresses such as UK’s Judi Dench ("Roald Dahl's Esio Trot"), Brazil's Grazi Massafera ("Verdades Secretas") and Germany's Christiane Paul ("Unterm Radar").
Sta. Maria is one of the 40 nominees across 10 categories of the 44th International Emmy Awards. Other countries included in the nominations are South Korea, the US, South Africa, and Sweden. Winners will be announced on the 21st day of November at the Hilton New York Hotel.
Meanwhile, apart from Sta. Maria’s nomination, the Kapamilya TV series “Bridges of Love” which starred Jericho Rosales, Paulo Avelino and Maja Salvador is also nominated for the Best Telenovela category.
