The Iraqi government is preparing for the hanging of 36 ISIS jihadists for the massacre of 1,700 Iraqi soldiers back in 2014 in Camp Speicher in Tikrit.

President Fuad Masum of Iraq announced the approbation of the jihadists' death sentence by mass hanging to be done next week.

Back in 2014, the terrorist group took over Tikrit and captured thousands of soldiers as prisoners. The group later on publicized alarming videos of those soldiers being strewed by bullets as they lied on the ground. Survivors have shared horror stories of how the others were slaughtered.

The Iraqi forensic team, along with the entire nation wept over the mass grave of the slaughtered soldiers that was found last year.

The human rights advocates however condemned the President for his decision after they claimed that the jihadists were forced to confessed to the crimes being imputed on them after being tortured and denied legal assistance.
