[Todays Viral] VIRAL: Celebrity couple Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño were able to raise P546, 000 for the bail of the Kidapawan farmers!

Celebrity couple Aiza Seguerra and Liza Diño did the extra mile and raised funds to bail the farmers who were detained. It can be remembered that these farmers were jailed after protesting to aid them with the effects of El Niño.

The couple claims that they have raised P546, 000 which is the needed amount to post bail for the 79 farmers. The farmers, specifically, asked for rice subsidy from the provincial government since their farms were affected by the drought.

"GOOD NEWS FOR EVERYONE!!! We were able to raise funds to cover the whole amount of 546,000 to bail out our farmers!!! Thank you LORD!!!,” Diño claims on her Facebook account. She added: “Most came from artists from the entertainment industry and friends who readily gave their support but there were other groups who donated as well to fulfill the amount. MARAMING SALAMAT SA TULONG NINYO [Thank you so much for your help]!”

Originally, they needed P12, 000 for each detained farmer but it was reduced to P6,000 by Kidapawan Municipal Trial Court Judge Rebecca De Leon. 

The couple went to the hearing at the Kidapawan MTC. They were spotted visiting the farmers in their cells and expressed their sympathies. In return, the farmer gave their heartfelt gratitude for the support and help they have received.

Diño said that this doesn't stop the fight for justice. Their goal is for all charges to be dropped and the case to be dismissed. 

Meanwhile, other celebrities also showed support to the farmers like Robin Padilla, Anne and Jasmine Curtis, Daniel Padilla and Angel Locsin.
