Britney Spears is a true American sweetheart, and just recently, she painted a bunch of pretty flowers in watercolor and sold them for $10,000 at an auction benefiting the victims of last month’s tragic shooting in Las Vegas. It’s the purest thing and people are trampling all over it.

Look, we get it. The woman is no Picasso. But something about those simple pink and blue petals just takes us back to the good old days of art class and Paint By Numbers, and the fact that she did it for charity makes it all the more commendable. “The flowers in my painting represent a new beginning, and it’s in that spirit that we move forward,” Britney stated about the tableau, which went on to sell at the Vegas Cares auction to Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous star Robin Leach.

Despite how unbelievably heartwarming this story is, some people still can’t move past the ‘ugly’ and ‘childish’ look of the painting. “I could paint better blindfolded with my toes,” one user callously commented.
