‘90s kids would remember watching ‘Berks', a show that featured some of the most memorable casts who were known for their individual quirks and different personalities.

Some of the actors in the show were Heart Evangelista, John Prats, Ketchup Eusebio, Glaiza de Castro, Carlo Aquino, and former ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo’ star, Hazel Ann Mendoza.

This is the Real Reason Why Former 'Pangako Sa 'Yo' Star Hazel Ann Mendoza Left Showbiz at the Peak of Her Career!

Hazel appeared in the original version of ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo’ in 2000 as Kristine Hermosa’s younger adoptive sister. Kristine played Yna Macaspac, who is one of the show’s lead stars, together with Jericho Rosales

Although Hazel only played a supportive role, she was remembered by the fans of the original show as it paved the way for more teleseryes of the same formula to be aired on the network’s primetime block.

YouTube account ‘WhatsUp Pinoy’ reported that Hazel was also involved in a love team. She was paired with Mhyco Aquino, who was now known as Oliver Aquino, in the show ‘Qpids.’

‘Qpids’ is a reality love-team search that was aired on ABS-CBN in 2005. It featured nine love teams who competed with each other through races and different acting challenges.

Even after ‘Qpids,’ fans of the show shipped Hazel and Mhyco together. Their love team was dubbed ‘MhyZel’ back then.

When Hazel moved to GMA Network, her love team with Mhyco vanished. She appeared in three teleseryes in Channel 7 and then moved back to ABS-CBN a few years after.

However, her last appearance was in the GMA Network once again. She played the role of Madonna in ‘Bantatay,’ a drama-comedy-fantasy series that featured Raymart Santiago and Gelli de Belen, among others.

Kicker Daily News reported that after that, she quit showbiz altogether and became a full-time mom with Director Paul Basanillo, who currently directs most of Sarah Geronimo and the JaDine’s shows.
