[Trending Now] Kapuso Actor Richard Gutierrez Charged With Tax Evasion Worth 38.57 Million Pesos by the BIR!

Kapuso actor Richard Gutierrez was charged with tax evasion by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

A report from a local broadsheet on Friday said that the BIR filed a complaint at the Department of Justice (DOJ) claiming Richard’s production company, R Gutz Production Corporation, where he serves as the president, failed to pay a total of P38.57 million in taxes in 2012.

“As a consequence of their acts and omissions, R Gutz and its president, Richard Gutierrez, were assessed an estimated aggregate deficiency tax liability for taxable year 2012 in the total amount of P38.57 million,” the BIR stated.

The taxes were inclusive of surcharges and value added tax (VAT).

According to the BIR, they already sent Richard its results twice this year and once in 2013. However, Richard has yet to respond with a statement.

Annabelle Rama, Richard’s mother and talent manager, dismissed the case and considered it "harassment." She claims that she can prove Richard filed his income tax returns correctly.
