The ABS-CBN’s teleserye hit ‘Ang Probinsyano’ shocked its fans and supporters as the Chief Operating Officer of the Philippine’s largest media conglomerate announced its extension until 2018.

Last April 21, ABS-CBN’s Chief Operating Officer of Broadcast Cory Vidanes confirmed that the primetime series will continue inspiring and entertaining its viewers until 2018. This announcement was made during a party held for the show’s cast and crew.

According to ABS-CBN, the teleserye which is based on Fernando Poe Jr.’s 1997 movie of the same title is continuously enjoying its position on top of the list of the most watched shows on the Philippines. It became the most watched entertainment program of ABS-CBN according to the data presented by Kantar Media. The research firm revealed that ‘Ang Probinsyano’ gets an average nayional TV rating of 39.9%.

Aside from its lead star, Coco Martin, stars such as Arjo Atayde, Yassi Pressman, and child star Awra Briguela were also present in the event. ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak was also present.

Many people are praising the police-themed TV series for its ability to deliver an effective action-drama scenes and to raise awareness to the public regarding prevalent crimes in society.
