[Trending Now] HEARTBREAKING! This Man Had to Walk For 20 Days All the Way From Baler to Benguet Because His Employer Refused to Pay Him!

Although there are several laws already in place to prevent abuse to our nation's workforce, it is still a harsh reality that people have learned to accept. Many who possess blue collar jobs, like construction workers and factory operators, still experience maltreatment from their employers. 

Aside from stressful work conditions, these workers are not paid enough. Oftentimes, just barely enough to afford daily needs such as food and water. Sometimes, they are not paid at all. 

Imagine, having to work for hours on end just to receive nothing at the end of the day. 

That was what happened to this man, 20-year-old James Manger Dela Cruz. 

According to Dela Cruz, his employer in Baler refused to pay him. He was forced to walk home from Baler to Benguet. 

A concerned netizen named Maria Elena Gonzales, posted his grievances on Facebook after they spotted him in Pangasinan.

Cases like this make you wonder if, with our government's fervent battle with the drug problem, are the other problems of the country being neglected? 

This is a clear depiction of labor abuse. Something that should not be happening if stringent measures are applied to ensure that the labor department does its job of providing better opportunities and protection for employees. 

After all, unemployment and desperation typically drive a person to commit crimes.

If the government is really keen on making this nation better, it should prioritize the basic needs of its people.
