Living in the Philippines, and having a third world economy where the rich just gets richer and the poorer get poorer, people will do anything to earn money to survive day by day.
We see a lot of peddlers begging for some money, sellers selling anything, workers who brave the traffic just to get to the office and of course a lucky few who get to do what they want and get paid for it. Given the very dire work circumstances, Filipinos resort to "instant cash" opportunities, and nowadays, one of the most inviting is the networking business.
All you need to do is prepare some capital, look for referrals, build a network and your money will work its way up for you. Well, that's the ideal scenario but the problem most of the time is the persuasion part where you convince someone to be part of your network.
