Back in the days, there were lots of wars and battles that were fought because of the territorial conflict between kingdoms and rulers. It was not just a simple matter of “divide and conquer” though-—people also spread their religion and their beliefs to different parts of the world.

In such cases, most of the wars were civil, which meant that it only happened within the territories but were nonetheless wars as well.

Such is the case of a place in England, where a photographer found out that a hidden cave existed in Shropshire, which was reported to be 700-years-old.

According to Metro, the untouched caves were used by the followers of the Knights Templar back in the medieval ages. The Knights Templar were a religious military order that fought in the Crusades, a series of religious wars that aimed to recover the Holy Land from Islam.

Photographer Michael Scott found out about it in a video he watched online and after that, he set out to explore the place himself. The caves are hidden less than a meter beneath a farmer’s field.

Scott said: “I traipsed over a field to find it, but if you didn’t know it was there you would just walk right past it.”

“It’s probably less than a meter underground, so it’s more into the field than under it. Considering how long it’s been there it’s in amazing condition, it’s like an underground temple.”

The tunnel leads to a series of walkways that are “completely untouched” and filled with beautifully carved arches.
