In Hinduism, they have a human-like monkey god in the name of Hanuman, a prominent divine entity. The Hindus consider Hanuman a provider of courage, strength, and longevity to individuals who think about him or another Hindu god, Rama.
In Buddhism, the monkey is considered an early incarnation of Buddha. However, they also consider it a symbol of ugliness and trickery.
The monkey is also revered in Japanese culture where they have the 'Sanzaru' or the three wise monkeys. They embody the popular proverb “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.”
