A lot of things that we deem simple might actually turn out to be more than what meets the eye

Treasures are not only found in the most grandiose of places, they can be as simple and mundane as a household item, it all depends on its appreciation, rich history and origin.

This is what Ted realized when he brought what he thought was just an old blanket onto the Antiques Roadshow

The blanket looked simple, it was unassuming and if you weren't a historian or an appraiser, you wouldn't look twice.

According to Ted, the blanket was given to his foster father who used to be a farmer and since then it became family property. He mentioned that he used it as a cover for his sofa

He wasn't prepared for what the appraiser would tell him.

Apparently, the simple multi-lined cloth was a 19th century Navajo chief's blanket. It was one of the first of its kind and should be considered a national treasure. Even the appraiser was astonished and was suspended in disbelief when he saw the blanket.

"It's extremely rare. It is the most important thing that's come into the Roadshow that I've seen,"
said Donald Ellis, the appraiser.

What shocked Ted more, was when the appraiser told him how much it was worth, a whooping $350,000-$500,000. Upon hearing the price, Ted cried and could not believe his luck.

What can you say about this stroke of luck? What do you think of the blanket?
