A dean's lister from Isabela was arrested by the police for illegally manufacturing fake bank websites which he used for acquiring money from his victims, GMA News reported.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Department of Justice's (DOJ) Office of Cybercrime arrested 23-year-old Christian Salvador in his apartment in Purok II, Cauayan, Isabela. The search and seizure warrant of arrest issued by the  Manila Regional Trial Court (Manila RTC) was based on a complaint filed by a huge bank. 

According to Jay Sales of GMA News, the bank received multiple complaints from its clients regarding credit card charges without their knowledge. After further investigation, it has come to their attention that Salvador is one of the people behind the bank website hacking.

The suspect admitted the crime, saying that he sells the credit card holders' bank information for Php5,000.00. Sometimes, he uses the money for buying things for himself. 

According to Salvador, he is a dean's lister in his school majoring in Computer Science. He mastered website penetration and phishing where he illegally acquires sensitive and private information such as account passwords and bank details in order to steal.

"Challenge lang din po talaga, sir. 'Yun lang po 'yung nag-udyok sa'kin, then gusto ko lang din po ma-apply 'yung ibang knowledge ko sa IT," Salvador explained.

The police authority investigated his house and his brand new car. Salvador's mother is a domestic helper in Lebanon while is father is a baker in Isabela. 

Salvador is now under the custody of NBI and may face charges including violation of Access Device Regulation Act of 1998 and Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

Meanwhile, his laptops, personal computers, and other gadgets will undergo a forensic examination to investigate if he is also related to any other illegal activities.
