Ruffa Gutierrez is known for her refined, mestiza features. After all, she was once a beauty queen who wowed the Filipinos when she became the second runner-up of the Miss World in 1993. 

She was also the Binibining Pilipinas World in the same year, and was the Look of the Year-Philippines winner in 1992.  She became extremely controversial with her relationship with former boyfriend Yilmaz Bektas.

According to Philippine Star, theirs was a “modern love story” because Yilmaz was a Muslim while Ruffa was a Catholic. However, the two married each other despite religion differences in 2003. 

But it was not what it ought to be--Ruffa soon claimed that their marriage was rocky and unstable. GMA News Online reported that the actress considered herself a “battered wife.” 

Yilmaz also threw accusations at Rufa, saying that her career in showbiz was ruining their marriage. By 2007, the two separated through a joint statement. In 2015, Ruffa opened up about another boyfriend. 

In an interview with the third season of ‘It Takes Gutz to be A Gutierrez,’ the actress revealed that she’s currently happy with her relationship to businessman Jordan Mouyal. 

She said that Jordan, who is from Paris, comes from a good family and has a great education background. 

She said, “Yeah, I think it’s a two-way thing. Also with Jordan, he has proven to me and to my friends that he’s here for the long run. Hindi naman siya pangit, may trabaho naman ang tao, maganda naman ang kinikita niya.” 

“Hindi naman siya yung parang walang pinag-aralan na hampaslupa. Hindi naman siya tambay sa kanto,” she continued.

YouTube account ‘Showbiz Philippines’ released a video that showed how “rich and handsome” Jordan is.
