[Trending Now] Yassi Pressman Answers Rumors Regarding Darna Role: 'Sobrang Laking Honor, Sobrang Nakakatuwa'

Kapamilya actress Yassi Pressman finally answered rumors regarding the iconic Darna role.

During her contract signing with ABS-CBN on Thursday, Yassi told reporters in an interview that there is no confirmation whether she is going to portray the fictional superheroine.

"Hindi po, hindi po," she told entertainment reporters. "Opo, nakikita ko po sa Twitter at nakikita ko po sa Facebook. Pero hindi po."

However, for her part, Yassi felt honored being considered as the next Darna. Yassi said she is thankful just for the mere fact that she is one of the options being considered.

"Sobrang laking honor. Kahit sabihin na even if I don't get to play the role, kung isa ako sa mga iniisip nila na posible, eh sobrang nakakatuwa. Just the fact na naiisip nila na maging part ako or choice, thankful ako."

The actress is now one of the stars of the high-rating action drama remake of "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano", starring actor Coco Martin.

Angel Locsin is the top bet in the upcoming Star Cinema film Darna. As the previous Darna, many hoped that the actress would reprise the role. Head of Star Cinema Malou Santos even claimed that the role belonged to Angel.

Angel's portrayal of Mars Ravelo's female protagonist more than a decade ago is remarkable. Unfortunately, she declined after being diagnosed with a bulging disc in her spine due to stunts she had done for previous projects.

The remake of Darna is under ABS CBN network. Angel played as Darna in 2005 while Marian Rivera in 2009, both under GMA network.

Aside from Yassi and Angel Locsin, other stars being considered to play the role are Nadine Lustre and Jessy Mendiola.
