[Trending Now] Watch: Sam Mangubat Went Emotional After His Performance in Tawag Ng Tanghalan!

Sam Mangubat recently created a buzz around social media when he became emotional after his performance yesterday, February 20, 2017, in Tawag ng Tanghalan in 'It's Showtime'. 

This is actually his second time joining Tawag ng Tanghalan and rose to series of wins after beating the defending winner Yvette Celoso as he sang "When We Were Young" by Adele last November 19, 2016. He impressed the judges back then garnering a score 92.6 percent. He immediately rose to fame among the viewers and even the netizens who loves how he turns band/rock songs to contest songs. They also noted how he sings with so much heart that it conveys a lot of emotions to those who are listening. 

Yesterday, he wasn't able to hold back his tears after singing Secrets of One Republic. Even the hosts, Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis were surprised of his choice of song and how he pulled it off excellently. When asked about why he went emotional, he shared that he was just overwhelmed of the support he is getting from people who are now his fans. According to him, he never imagined that he would be this welcomed by the audience, saying that he is not used to joining contests. 

Vice Ganda seconded the motion noting that it is the love from people which keeps them going as artists. While they do their craft very well, Vice noted that it is important to also impart something inspiring to people who supports them. Anne Curtis, on the other hand, shares how Sam touches the hearts of many when he sings.

Sam also noted that he considers his 'bonnet' his lucky charm and swears not to take it off when he performs. He is just very thankful for the blessings he is receiving right now and promises to do his best every day.
