A senior citizen has already been returned to his family after he was found carrying a total of P1.5M in cash along EDSA Mandaluyong.

The 91-year-old man, who was not identified as per the request of his family, was found by the police carrying bundles of dollar and peso bills in his pockets and in his hands around Barangay Banrangka Ilaya at 5:30 PM yesterday.

Worrying about his safety, the officers brought the man to a nearby barangay hall for questioning.

During the inspection, the police found that 'lolo' had 300 pieces of dollar bills in his possession amounting to P1.3 million and peso bills amounting to P276,000.

According to the grandpa, he was on his way to place his bet for a cockfight. But when they found the rest of his story to be incoherent, they immediately contacted his family through his license and senior citizen ID.

It seems like the old man is suffering from memory loss because the old man didn't recognize his own child.

But the police later verified the identity of the relative through the documents presented.

Good thing the cops got to him first.
