"I shall return" said Douglas MacArthur before leaving the Philippines in 1942. However, it seems as if the U.S. general is not the only one who planned on returning.
A recent photo has gone viral online showing the Philippine national hero Jose Rizal is back - or so it seems.
Filipino Vines posted a photo on Facebook of an unidentified man with an unbelievably uncanny resemblance to Rizal. Sitting beside a portrait of the great hero, the resemblance between the two cannot be denied.
The photo generated a lot of buzz online, reaching up to 260,000 reactions and more than 86,000 shares within just one day.
"Hindi pala si mc Arthur ang nagsabe ng I shall return . si Jose Rizal pala hahaha. Its been a long year finally you're back . welcome," commented netizen Sally Beltran.
"Omg wala ng double pay sa dec 30 dahil rizal is back hahahahaha," joked Clarence Sandford.
