Veteran action star and actor John Regala was rushed to the hospital on Thursday, February 16, after suffering from high blood pressure.
Regala was found outside a supermarket in Zapote, Cavite lying down and struggling to breath. One Facebook user named Bhadloy Lopez posted photos of the actor with the caption, “John regala inatake sa savemore sa sapote [sic] kanina.”
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) contacted the netizen to collect more details regarding the incident. According to Bhadloy, it happened at 3:45 PM.
In an exclusive with Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (KMJS) last Sunday, Regala clarified that he simply just got dizzy because of the extreme heat. However, he's thankful for the fans and people who gave out love and prayers for his well-being.
“Nangangatog yung tuhod ko eh, biglang nawalan at nag-pass out talaga ako, ” said John. “Hindi ako na-stroke at hindi po ako inatake sa puso, malakas po ako. Katunayan eh malakas na malakas pa ako at kaya ko pa lumabas (sa pelikula).”
“Akala ko wala ng nagmamahal sa akin. Akala ko nakalimutan na ako ng tao. Kaya minsan nade-depress ako dahil mahal na mahal ko mga taga-hanga ko. Ngayon ko napatunayan, hanggang ngayon pala ang pagmamahal pala ng tao ay nanatili pa din sa akin,” John said.
He also recognized the people around the area who helped him.
“Sa mga taga Zapote, maraming maraming salamat sa inyo sa mga pagtulong nyo sa akin. Napatunayan ko na mahal na mahal nyo ako, at nagpapalakas ng loob yun para lumaban sa mundo.” said John.
