Enrile Reacts to De Lima's Arrest, Says There is No Such Thing As A Political Prisoner

According to GMA NEWS ONLINE, De Lima was recorded saying the following in a statement that she gave before Friday morning's events.

“I have long prepared myself to be the first political prisoner under this regime, because the criminal charges and prosecution are nothing less than a politically motivated act by the Duterte regime to clamp down on any vocal opposition against its support for a policy of EJK in dealing with suspected criminals."

The statement mentioned above appears to have gotten the attention of former senator Juan Ponce Enrile who, as the public may well be aware of, was one of the senators who got involved in the pork barrel scam in 2014

Enrile reportedly said the following after hearing about De Lima's statement about the being the first "political prisoner" of the Duterte administration.
