Kapamilya actresses Carmi Martina and Denise Laurel were shocked and saddened over the tragic Tanay Bus Accident which claimed the lives of 14 students on February 20.
Students of Bestlink College of the Philippines in Novaliches, Quezon City were on their way to Tanay, Rizal for their National Training and Services Program's (NSTP) three-day camping when their bus lost its brakes and hit an electrical post. 15 people, including the bus driver, lost their lives in the tragic accident.
Upon hearing the news,'The Bettet Half' stars, Carmi Martin and Denise Laurel, went on their social media accounts to express their prayers and condolences to the victims. They claim that they happened to see the students minutes before they died.
The ABS-CBN teleserye had an on-location shoot in Tanay, Rizal on the morning of February 20. Both Carmi and Denise revealed that they saw the blue bus carrying the students as it passed by their taping location which wasn't too far from the exact spot where the accident happened.
Carmi went to her Facebook account to share her feelings about the tragic event. According to her, she heard the students yelling her name when the bus passed by. She posted this picture with the words:
On the other hand, Denise Laurel asked her followers to pray for the victims in an Instagram quote-card she posted. She claimed that the students shouted "hi" at her and she waved back at them when she saw the bus.
