When the campaign #LoveWins went viral, people — especially the members of the LGBT community — rejoiced and celebrated and recognized the rights of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders to marry.
Unfortunately, this has yet to happen in all countries, particularly in the Philippines, where people from the LGBT community are still facing widespread discrimination and harassment.
In a Facebook post by Jace Caguiat Pineda, he showed just how much love truly wins and that there should be no discrimination whatsoever when it comes to the celebration of love. He posted pictures and a video of a guy named AJ who gave his boyfriend a Valentine’s Day surprise.
According to Pineda's post, it was “AJ’S BEST VALENTINE EVER!!!”
“Ginalingan! May nanalo na!” Pineda said, punctuated with three laughing-with-tears emojis. He continued: “Stop bitterness, share love” with a smiling emoji. “Share mo kung kinilig ka.”
The footage showed AJ waiting for the opportunity to give his handwritten card and rose to A, his boyfriend. His friends can be heard in the background, urging him to give the surprise gift. “Galingan mo! Pag-asa mo na ‘yan! Aalis na si A!” they simultaneously exclaimed.
