Actor Matteo Guidicelli is once again making waves as he stars in his first action movie ‘Across the Crescent Moon’ which is slated to be released this January 25. The movie was supposed to be part of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2016's line-up. 

In a report by Push, Matteo said that he is playing the role of Abbas, a Muslim Special Action Force (SAF) officer who is married to a Christian woman. The story is about faith and other issues that the country is currently facing.

"Sa trailer pa lang, sinasabi namin that the Philippines is one of the biggest sources of human trafficking. Sana the movie will bring out the message na our administration is doing better for us. It's killing corruption, killing crime, killing drugs, and making the Philippines a better place," Matteo said in the movie's press conference.

During the film’s shooting, the actor admitted that he did virtually everything for the film, except for a particular scene. "But I said yes to everything except 'yung one scene, 'yung love scene kumbaga. Wala lang, it was done in different ways to implement 'yung love scene."

Matteo's leading lady is played by Alex Godinez, who was once his girlfriend. According to him, Sarah Geronimo, his current girlfriend, is not jealous of her. "Hindi totoo. Hindi naman nagselos. Pero masasabi ko lang itong si Alex dating friend ko ito, hindi lang friend kundi ex-girlfriend ko." 

Alex remained friends with him after their break-up and Matteo said that he was proud of being able to work with her in an amicable manner. He revealed that he had a bed scene with Alex, but he asked Sarah about how it made her feel. 

The pop star royalty, in return, said that she's okay with it. According to Matteo, he didn't know that he would be working with his former flame in the movie. He also said that Sarah has already met Alex, who is the niece of his acting mentor, Martin Nievera. 

"Sana mapanuod niya. Hindi naman siya magseselos. Magsho-shoot naman siya ng pelikula ngayon eh, so sana kapag libre siya, she can come watch. I'm happy for her. They're going to have another film with John Lloyd," he said. 

‘Across the Crescent Moon’ also stars Christopher De Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Gabby Concepcion, Sandy Andolong, Joem Bascom, and Leo Martinez, among others. It is directed by Baby R. Nebrida and produced under Gold Barn International.
