[Trending Now] Sen. Gordon Plans to File Ethics Complaint Against De Lima For Walking Out on Senate: 'Masisira Yung Reputation ng Senado'

Senator Richard Gordon is planning to file an ethics complaint against Senator Leila de Lima after walking out during an on going session over witness Edgar Matobato.

During the senate hearing resumption last Monday, Gordon and Lacson got mad upon Matobato's unauthorized exit and for material information that De Lima allegedly withheld. The information being a case of kidnap for was filed against Matobato  in Samal prosecutor's office

Gordon said that he cannot just let this misconduct of De Lima to pass.

“I cannot let it pass because pinaghirapan namin ‘yan. And here’s another point, the Senate’s reputation has been sullied,” Gordon said.

“You invite all these people, you make them wait for 13 hours, tapos magwwalkout ka tapos merong shenanigans. Eh di masisira yung reputation ng Senado, diba?” Gordon exclaimed.

Gordon explained that he already raised the issue with all the other members of the committee and that all of them agreed into final decision.

“Pinag-usapan namin. Hindi maganda yung ginawa talaga kaya malungkot kami eh. Hindi ko naman gusto saktan si De Lima eh. I’ve been friendly with her…I feel very, very betrayed,” Gordon said.

“If they don’t believe us, if they don’t listen to us, if they hit us outside of the Senate, then it’s their own lookout. Ako, I don’t think you can ever accuse me of being biased and not giving them their due,” the senator added.
