Josette Duran from Albuquerque, New Mexico is the one who packs her son's lunch. This is her part of her daily routine. However, things got mixed up a bit when her son Dylan asked if she could pack him an extra piece for each of his food.

When the school year started, the one lunch she packs for his son eventually became two.  The other one is for Dylan’s friend.

Dylan told her mom that the extra lunch is for his friend who does not seem have to have enough lunch money. His friend only eats a single cup of fruit.

Josette then learned that the mother of Dylan’s friend is a single mom who lost her job recently. They’re homeless and just living in their car. Hearing about this situation, Josette was deeply touched by the request of her son.

On Facebook. Josette shared her conversation with her son:

Dylan: Mama can you make me TWO lunches today?

Me: Are you not getting full boo?

Dyl: Yes Mom, it’s for this boy. He only eats a fruit cup for lunch can you make him lunch too? I don’t think he has lunch money.

“This hits home to me because a few years ago, me and my son were homeless,” Josette said.

“I was living in my car and I was washing him in bathrooms. And we didn’t have food,” she added.

After her routine of packing two lunches, the school principal called her and asked if she can come over to the school.

The mother of Dylan’s friend eventually learned about what she was doing.

The two mothers met at the principal’s office. “I know this isn’t much, but I just got a job, and I know you’ve been feeding my son,” the little boy’s mom told Josette.

She wanted Josette to accept the money. However, Josette refused.

Instead, she paid all of the past due accounts of the kids who needs lunch. The volleyball team she is coaching worked to raise more than $400.

A viral video of Josette sharing this story while holding back her tears went viral online

“So now, nobody in that school owes any money, and now everyone can eat,” she said.
