[Trending Now] 'Kung Relo Lang Ang Basehan ng Credibility, May Problema Yata' - SPO3 Lascañas to Trillanes

October 3, second witness, retiring police officer, SPO3 Arthur Lascañas appeared at Senate hearing yesterday. Edgar Matobato, the first witness tagged SPO3 Lascañas as the leader of the DDS (Davao Death Squad). However, Lascañas denied all of the allegations and said that the Davao Death Squad does not exist.

On the continuation of the Senate hearing on extra judicial killings, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV tested the credibility of SPO3 Lascañas and flooded him with questions on the watch that he gave to Matobato. 

“As far as my memory is concerned po, matagal na nangyari yan e,” Lascañas replied.

Trillanes said that at first, Lascañas was sure of his statement then eventually changed it. 

“Ayan na. Kanina siguradong sigurado ka. Ang binigay mo, yung lumang relo, ngayon, hindi ka na sigurado.” He said.

Then Lascañas said that he’ll stand by his statement.

“Your honor, kung relo lang ang basehan sa credibility, parang may problema yata.” Lascañas said.

SPO3 Lascañas also denied that in 2014, they tortured Matobato.

When he was asked what can be the reason why Matobato dropped his name on the issue, Lascañas answered that someone must have put Matobato up to it.
