Mermaids have long been part of the vast and obscure world of fictions, myths and folklore's of different cultures all across the globe. These enchanting mythical creatures have captivated the imagination of men for ages.
An argument for its existence has yet again made headlines after gruesome images of a decaying body of allegedly a mermaid washed ashore on a beach in Great Yarmouth, Britain was shared by Facebook page of a man named Paul Jones.
"Today at Great Yarmought we found what looks like a dead Mermaid washed up on the beach," the caption said.
The image showed what seemed like a half man half fish remains. Although decaying, the head and tail were still intact contrary to its midsection, which appeared to have rotten.
Although some conspiracy theorists believe in the authenticity of the images, some others argue that it could have possibly be just a dead seal noting that the East Coast is known for its large colony of grey seals.
Mirror UK have also noted that the said Facebook page's owner is a modeler of figures and is part of a Facebook group named "Horror and Halloween DIY".
