[Trending Now] This Is What The Scientists Discovered After Opening Up A Cave Which Has Been Secluded For More Than 5 Million Years!

Dwellers in Movile Cave are peculiar. The mystical cave is only a few miles away from the Black Sea and it is impenetrable for about 5.5million years! However, the air in this cave is poisonous and humid in a way that you can’t bear it and this cave is now a goldmine for biologist.

BBC Earth has claimed that not more than 100 people has inquired into the mystical cave. In 1986, people from the Socialist Republic of Romania was looking for a new place to erect a nuclear power plant. 

Today, authorities already have fenced off that cave and people who wish to go in has to have a special permission. 

Going deep into the cave, the air is composed of half of the usual number of oxygen and the carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide is high. It’s very dark due to the sunlight has not penetrated it for atleast 5.5 million years. 

Inside this grim surroundings, experts identifies 48 species living there. Creatures like spiders, pseudoscorpions, water scorpions, leeches, isopods, centipedes and 33 of them are peculiar in this cave.

Nearly all of the creatures found in this cave has no vision. Long limbs that are extra-long and antennae are the ones who help them maneuver in the dark. 

This world is known for relying on chemo-synthetic bacteria. To gather up energy, most of the ecosystem use photosynthesis. Since there is no sunlight penetrating the cave, these bacteria has to gather up carbon straight from oxidation of sulfide or the oxidation of ammonium which is a chemical reaction.

You’re may be wondering how the animals be on that cave since it is isolated?

J. Colin Murell, a microbiologist from the University of East Angelia mentioned to BBC Earth, “It’s very likely that the bacteria have been there a lot longer than five million years.” He added, “They could have simply fallen in and became trapped when the limestone cast dropped, sealing the cave until it was discovered again in 1896.”

Movile Cave is believes to have many mysteries that is in the depths of the cave. However, experts still has tons of dwellers to discover that can give extensive insights into progressive biology.
