CAMARINES SUR, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte assures people not to declare martial to fight illegal drug trade all over the country.
The President made his word not to declare martial law to solve the endemic problem of illegal drugs in the Philippines.
This was assured by Pres. Rody in his appearance at Camo Elias Angeles Pili, Camarines Sur.
He even said that even there are government officials and employees who are involved in this illegal trade of drugs, he will stil refrain from declaring martial law.
“Ngayon diyan, public officials, personnel, judges, NBI at ang police. Paano ko makaya ito? Hindi ko naman ito madampot, at patayin ko.. Ayaw ko na noong Martial Law. Ngayon ito. This will destroy your children at iyong mga apo ninyo and the next generation,” the president told the soldiers.
Soldiers were once again called by the President not to neglect and abandon the campaign against the illegal drugs.
“If that problem outlasts me for whatever reason— mamatay ako, matanggal o ano… sa buhay na ito … do not… do not abandon your job. Solbahin ninyo iyang problema na iyan, kasi sisirain ang Pilipinas niyan,” he continued.
This words from the president would be a bit helpful for some human rights advocates who were bothered of the possibility that President Digong might declare martial law in the near future.
Advocates fear him on his statement for Supreme Court Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno saying, “would you rather I declare martial law?” when the SC chief criticized the president for making public the narco-list that includes some judges from the judiciary department.
Meanwhile, the president will turn over to AFP the list of personalities involved in the illegal drug operations in the country.
