The gastrointestinal (GI) tract of the body is the most essential part of the digestive system as it assures that the body fully absorbs the nutrients we consume. Maintaining a healthy intestinal flora secures the body from illnesses and other health problems such as digestive problems, constipation, lethargy, bloating and bad breath. Below are ways on how to maintain a healthy and fully functional GI tract.

1. Medicinal Clay
Medicinal Clay is a natural treatment for problems in the GI tract. It helps cleanse the tract through expelling toxins, bacteria, contaminants and cholesterol. The clay contains calcium, selenium, iron, magnesium and copper which serves as neutralizers for stomach acid preventing stomachaches, bloating, irritable bowl and even heartburn.

2. Drink Right
Drinking 2-3 liters of water a day quickly helps in flushing out harmful toxins from the body. Aside from water, herbal teas, fruit juices and green smoothies also help in maintaining a healthy GI tract.

3. Fleaseed Shells
Plantago Ovata seed shells cleanse the GI tract through flushing out the tract caused by mucins which improves digestion and helps in easily expelling toxins. However, consuming fleaseed shells require plenty of water, otherwise the problem may escalate.

4. Healthy Nutrition
The gut flora of the GI tract often carries the weight of eating unhealthy foods. Balancing the consumption of acids and bases through fresh fiber-rich meals cause better digestion. Consuming foods such as herbs, broccoli, bell peppers, apples, spinach, carrots, kiwis and other foods such as nuts and mushrooms help in regulating the acid in the tract.

5. Stomach Massage
Massaging the stomach twice a day helps in purifying and reviving the GI tract. While massaging the stomach, slow breathing must be done to help too. Bend your knees as you lie down and stroke your stomach to the belly button through the left and right hand respectively. Afterwards, lay both hands in between your stomach and touch the belly button using both thumbs pointing the tip of your fingers towards your pubic bone. Using the right hand, make circular motion followed by the other hand. Lastly, make circular motion using both hands simultaneously.

These home remedies may help however, seeing a doctor if the problem persists is much advised.
