[Trending Now] Ex-DILG secretary Alunan to US and EU: “Thank you for your concern. Build us asylum for drug lords”

Former Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Rafael Alunan III thought of the most inventive way of getting rid of drug lords in the country and silencing international critics.

He also manage to make the days of several Filipino netizens in his satirical message to the US and EU.

Alunan wrote an open letter to the United States and the European Union to grant the Philippines a “permanent asylum” for the drug lords and dealers since they have been expressing much concern over the drug-related killings in the Philippines. 

Here’s the full letter.

Dear US and EU,

Thank you for your heartfelt concern on EJK.

It's really a big problem for us because ever since we started our campaign against illegal drugs, those in the business have also started eliminating each other. We suspect it is meant to cover their tracks. The backlash is that we are the ones suspected of doing the EJK.

Would it then be possible for you to grant our drug syndicates - from the lords down to their pushers and enforcers - permanent asylum in your countries? That way you'd have peace of mind knowing that the suspects would be safe in your hands.

Alunan admitted in the comments section that he just got the letter from a comrade, and posted it himself.

“ it's not a matter of who said it, but what was said that resonates with humanity," he said.
