The controversial word war between the President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Leila De Lima has fueled up more hatred from the netizens against the senator taking up the President's side.

Krizette Laureta Chu, a writer of a major publication in the country also have spoke up in regards to the issue and openly expressed her thoughts as she wrote an open letter to De Lima. She started by recalling the senator's threat to the former mayor turned President in regards to his connection with the alleged Davao Death Squad (DDS).

"For nearly a decade, De Lima libeled, slandered and threatened Duterte that she would expose his connection to the DDS. She has done nothing of the sort..."

She defended the President from woman rights advocates and feminists who sympathized with the senator after Duterte revealed her alleged lover and driver who collected money for her from the New Bilibid Prison.

"Her immorality is not (just) about adultery and concubinage, but allegedly accepting drug money from drug lords."

She also called out on the senator for crying foul after De Lima claimed that Duterte's allegations were a clear case of "character assassination."

"So, pag siya ang biktima, when she is on the receiving end of a tirade, it's character assassination?" she questioned. "Pero pag siya ang nagsalita, investigation?"

She also recalled an advertisement that used children during the election that she claimed was an advertisement against Duterte, although was disguised as an awareness campaign.

She ended her tirade hoping that Francis Tolentino, former MMDA chair has money to ask for a recount because she believed that there was no possible way that the Senator won her seat fairly.
