Without a doubt you will probably disagree with at least some of the items on this list, as they are by nature subjective. But that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be considered as some things really are encouraged way more than they should be. Some of these points are probably more relevant to your life than others. Even if they aren’t though, there are certainly people out there that could probably stand to benefit from reading that one point you disagree with.
For example, one of the points is suing people for everything. If you are a lawyer, you may disagree with us. Another point is not sleeping. If you are a middle manager who needs his employees to be productive, you may disagree with us. And that is fine. But there are also people who would agree with the given point. Such is the nature of subjectivity. You think that retributive justice is a good thing and should be encouraged, the next person doesn’t (that’s actually another point on our list). Disagreement is fine, and as we said before, you’ll probably agree with some points and disagree with others. We’re all different, and that’s what we would expect in a pluralistic society. Winning at all costs

While encouraging kids to do their best and go as far as they can is a good thing, telling everyone they can be something like president is not. For one, being president of a country typically has pre-requisites related to things like where you born. You can’t change that.
Not taking your vacation days

Even if you have them, in some industries, it will make you look really bad if you actually use them.
Apathy

In some circles, this is seen as “cool”. It doesn’t get you very far though.
Yelling to get what you want

It’s usually not the employee’s fault. The company maybe, but the employee, probably not. They are typically just doing what they are told to do.
Extremism

Being busy

Being busy isn’t bad, but in some parts of the developed world, it has almost become a virtue. Or at the very least, a reason to gloat.
Overworking

Pain is weakness leaving the body

Putting your kids first

This usually leads to spoiled kids, unhappy marriages, and entitled societies. Okay, that may have been excessive, but you get the point.
The customer is always right

Anybody who has worked in service knows that this is not true.
Retributive justice

Just throwing people in prison doesn’t solve much, and yes, it is expensive. Furthermore, most of the people who end up in prison are not the rich money laundering politicians. They’re kids that smoked weed. A focus on rehabilitation would prevent repeat offensive much more effectively.
Overeating

Finishing all of the food on your plate doesn’t help anybody in Africa. Quite often, it hurts you. And yes, the typical westerner eats far more than what is necessary. Just because the economy produces too much food doesn’t obligate the consumer to consume it.
Not sleeping

Similar to overworking and not taking vacation days, in many careers and walks of life, not sleeping is seen as a badge of honor. A harmful badge of honor.
Everybody is a winner

This mentality tends to give kids a false expectation of reality. At one point or another, we all lose at least once. Learning how to deal with losing is an important life skill.
Unpaid internships

Free labor for the company, something to put on the resume that doesn’t always help that much. Many of these are even illegal.
Enabling via social media

There are a few cases where suing is arguably acceptable. But suing a store because you fell through the roof and broke your leg while you were trying to rob it? It’s a bit too much. At some point, people stopped taking responsibility for their own actions.

Just because you can take a loan is not a very good reason to take a loan. There are only few instances where it works out better for you in the long run.
Going to college

If you are going to college without an end goal in mind, you’ll likely end up with a meaningless degree and a lot of debt. Try community college first. You can figure out what you like for much cheaper and then transfer later.
