[Hot News] Showtime Selfie Helps Blind Child Gain Money and Other Gifts!!!

ABS-CBN Showtime hosts rely on selfie-crazed netizens to help a blind child.

Vice Ganda, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Karylle, Vhong Navarro, Jhong Hilario, Anne Curtis and Kim Atienza have asked their followers and fans last August 27 to Maria's medical expenses by liking the "It's Showtime" family "selfie" (or groufie)  with the girl and her mother on Social Media platforms Twitter and Instagram.

One "like" on Instagram and a "retweet" on Twitter is equivalent to P1. The money raised was given to the child for her much-needed operation to restore her eyesight.

By the end of the show, the selfie got 88,132 "likes" on Instagram and has been re-tweeted more than 27,500 times for a total of P115,632 earned.

Aside from cash, the child will also be receiving gifts pledged by the hosts. Jugueta said he will be giving the a stuffed toy, while Atienza promised to give a doll. Karylle and Curtis are buying her a videoke set, while Vice Ganda has invited the child to his house for a swim.
