The most unforgettable movie that evokes the purest feelings of love and compassion and proves to be intensely cataclysmic and unforgettable; Blue is the warmest color is truly a treat for the mind and the heart while being a combination of emotional/sentimental and thought invoking. Watching this movie is like bringing back memories of much purer times. Love is a very common theme in the movie with thought invoking scenes throughout.

Deflowering innocence

First, the director Kechiche throws the viewers in to the world of Adèlea, a wide-eyed high-school beauty who should, by the specifications of her contemporaries, be wowing the kids, but instead almost breaks the stereotype by dating an average guy as an experiment for herself. Sensing no glimmer with him, or any other fellas, she fixates over a blue-haired older girl she views on the pavements of her provincial French town one day. As soon as Adèlea really locates Emma (Le’a) in a lesbian pub, it’s not long before the pupil and the soon-to-be artiste commences having intense, soul-searching debate on the soon-to-be-iconic park bench. Immediately after that, they’re obtaining each other’s secrets to sensual ecstasy, in the movie’s already much-talked-about gender displays. Kechiche has a feeling of rapture that reaches all the individuals senses; Adèlea and Emma, in the first throes of love, eat the maximum amount of, so that as greedily, as they have sexual intercourse, and there’s particular attention directed at Emma teaching Adèlea how to appreciate oysters.

Finding and losing forbidden love

What made me love this movie is the true and deep soul-searching opportunities it provided as it brings the viewer the life of two girls, from them searching for meaning in their sexual lives towards emotion, love and heart break.

Blue is the warmest color, for me, was an absolute marvel that showcased emotions that are considered taboo in the society. A complete breakdown of gay relations and the confused people that are looking for a way of understanding “what’s happening”. This movie captures true love in a form where sex is shown intimately and quite often. This movie is for anyone that is looking to go down an emotional rollercoaster and wants a movie that truthfully and soulfully shows love, heartbreak and emotional pain.

Blue is the warmest color is perhaps the greatest film to reach the audience that will leave you wanting more. The movie is a 3 hour long movie but at the end of it, you’ll feel revitalised but also left in tears.
