[Trending Now] Boyfriend Decided Not To Pay The Restaurant Bill After The Mother Of His GF Brought Her Friends And Family!

It used to be common courtesy for men to pay the bills for a woman if they were in a relationship or even if they’re still dating. Nowadays, both men and women split the bill or it could be up to them on who will handle the payment first. 

However, there are still some relationships wherein the man is still expected to handle the payment for the girl. Some guys even insist on doing so in order to get on the good side of the girl’s family. 

One man from Taiwan decided it was a good idea to treat his girlfriend’s mom for dinner since he thought that she would be his mother-in-law in the future anyway.+

He made a reservation in a Japanese restaurant as a birthday treat for the girl and her mom. 

As the two guests arrived, he was a bit shocked when suddenly her brother also came into the room and sat with them. Along with the brother are a few family members too. The boyfriend thought it was ok since they are his girlfriend’s family and will soon be his family too.

Things became more complicated when the friends of his girlfriend’s mom tagged along. The supposed dinner for three grew to a dinner for eight and two kids. What’s more shocking is the fact that the bill reached 45,600 New Taiwan Dollars (US$1,500).

This annoyed the boyfriend which made him refuse to pay the bill. The girl’s brother sensed that the two were already arguing about the payment so he decided to get the bill instead. 

Upon going home, the couple continued to argue. The guy claimed that the girl’s family was just out to take advantage of him. The girl even posted about it on social media.

The girl said that she gave 35,000 New Taiwan Dollars (US$1,160) to her boyfriend as payment for what her mother did. This, however, made the boyfriend angrier which made him slap the girl. She then added that she is now unsure of her feeling for her boyfriend especially when he sent her an apology letter. 

Some netizens took the guy’s side saying “That bill is seriously too expensive. Since both of you have been together for three years, you should know fairly well about his finances and whether he is able to afford such an expensive meal.”

Others thought that they were both wrong. Both of them are in the wrong, as they did not communicate well.

“A man should never hit a girl, but the girl should also think on her boyfriend’s behalf and not bring so many people along.”
