The Bb. Pilipinas pageant is more than just about beauty. The contestants need to be smart and confident too.

In every pageant, the contestants are asked questions during the question and answer portion. The questions range from topics that concern the lives of the beauty queens to topics that would benefit the country or the world.

Last night’s host, Xian Lim, introduced Ambassador Franz Jesssen to ask the question to Rachel Peters

“My question is for candidate no. 19 Rachel Peters. This week, the Philippines hosted the ASEAN summit. If you were invited to speak, what would have been your message to the leaders?”

Rachel paused for a few seconds to think but eventually had an awesome response to the judge’s question.

She said, “I believe that one of the biggest problems that our country faces today is divisiveness in politics, in religion and in culture. And i believe that is something that is the same across the world. And so that is something that I would want to address. I believe that when people can learn to tolerate each others differences and respect each others opinions, then we will just be a stronger nation and world. Thank you.”

Her response was cut as she was ending her statement because of the crowd’s loud cheering.

Clearly, everyone was impressed with how she delivered her answer. This response added to her appeal and eventually became one of the reasons why she was hailed as Miss Universe Philippines
