Despite the expansion of job opportunities in the Philippines in the past few years, many people are still opting to go to other countries to work and earn money.

That’s because the earnings there are higher compared to those in the Philippines and if anything else, we all wanted what’s best for our families, specifically our children. 

That is why many Filipinos still prefer to work abroad, despite the huge risks involved, including discrimination and maltreatment from employers. 

A returning OFW mother appeared on Raffy Tulfo’s radio program and complained that ever since she came back to the country, her mother-in-law doesn’t want her to have custody of her own child. 

The video report was uploaded in Raffy Tulfo’s Facebook official fan page. Tulfo asked her about her situation and then got a phone call with Delia Cabiguen, the mother-in-law.

Tulfo informed her that he’s with Jerrylane Dacallos, the mother of the child. The mother-in-law, however, replied vehemently.

“Ay, hindi puwede, sir!” she exclaimed when Tulfo said that Dacallos wanted to have her child back. 

“Hintayin ang ama niya! Dahil ang babae na ‘yan nakipaglalaki, kaya takot na takot sa asawa niyang maghintay!” she proclaimed on the phone. 

“Naglalaki sa Saudi, tapos dumating… dito, hindi na niya inasikaso ang anak niya, nagpunta sa bahay ng lalaki!” the mother-in-law continued.

Tulfo said that she needed to relax and went on to call Lorenza Dacena, who is a personnel from the MSWD or the Municipal Social Welfare Development. 

He introduced her Dacallos’ case and said that her child is with the mother-in-law. “Hindi po kasal ah,” he said over the phone. 

“Gusto niya pong kunin, two-years-old po ‘yung bata. Gusto ko po, kayo kasama ng PNP, kunin na ‘yung bata kasi ayaw po maniwala ni Nanay Delia, sabi niya magkapatayan na raw.”

“Pero sinasabi ko po sa kanya ngayon, nakikinig kayo, nasa batas natin… below, ‘matic sa nanay,” the radio host said. 

According to the video description, “Ang pagbawi ng isang ina sa kanyang anak na nauwi sa away, agawan at habulan. Muntik pang magrambulan. (Pumapalag kasi ang kanyang biyenan.)
