We’ve all done it, calling someone ‘fat’ or ‘thin’ as a mockery. But many people have been quick to point out that this practice is called body shaming. While most of us do it and make the victims feel bad about themselves, some choose to stand up.

Facebook user Frances Vicente posted pictures of herself in a one piece pink bikini suit while on a summer escapade at Calaguas Island. Her post earned praise and support online and reaped 2300 reactions and close to 700 shares.

Her caption reads:

“Weight is not an automatic indicator of beauty. I'm a plus-size woman who’s confidently exposing not just the body I have but it's more like the beauty in it. We live in a world full of criticisms, rejections, but my perspective to being a fat woman is kinda different. Some advised me to lose weight, I accept their opinions but I don't have to change every single thing in me just because being slim is what most people admire of. This is me and this is how I felt loved by the people who truly accept me no matter what I look like.”

Another set of photos were also uploaded on her timeline on April 16, now wearing a new bikini.

Frances goes for the hashtags ‘confidence is sexy’ and ‘chubby is the new sexy’. And we think we all should agree!
