63-year-old Hesus Cervantes carries his daughter Lyka on his back across rivers just to bring her to school every day. Despite his old age, he is willing to sacrifice so much for his daughter.
Lyka has heart difficulties but she wants to become a teacher someday. The grade 5 student shared that she's grateful for her father's love and that she promises to do well in school so she can repay him someday.
Mang Hesus told ABSCBN News that he is motivated even though they are less fortunate. He only earns 100 to 300 pesos a day from farming. He hopes that one day all of his children will finish school and be able to raise them up from poverty.
Netizens were touched by their story and couldn't help but admire Mang Hesus.

Others call out for help to be sent to Lyka for her heart condition.
