The whole world has always been in awe of the Taj Mahal temple in India. It was a temple built by a king to commemorate his love for his late wife. But do you know that the Philippines has its own Taj Mahal? It can be found in Cebu and is called the "Temple of Leah".

What's more interesting about it is that it was Ellen Adarna's grandfather, Teodorico Adarna, who built the temple to commemorate his late wife, Leah Villa Albino-Adarna, who died of lung cancer in 2012 at the age of 69.

According to Adarna, the temple cost him a fortune, as the property is 500,000-square-meter in size! It contains a lot of collections in which he revealed that Ellen's late grandmother was an "avid collector of vases, ceramic statues, various small knick-knacks, and souvenirs from the couple's travels."

"For her, traveling is buying something." he further shared in an interview with CNN yesterday, April 03.

It also has an enormous collection of books.

Its construction is not yet finished, though, it started in 2013, and is expected to be finished by the year 2020. According to Adarna, Parthenon, the iconic Ancient Greek structure, was the temple's inspiration.

"Parthenon has been there for almost 2,500 years, and I do hope this will last 2,500 years." he said.

When asked about his total expenses so far, he casually stated that he lost count. The statue of his wife alone cost him 4 million pesos, and you can already tell that the rest would have cost him more.

The temple has been attracting foreigners as it is said that it has the best view of the city.

Adarna left everyone touched as he ended the interview with the statement:
"When I'm gone, everyone will forget me.
"But when they see this, they will remember me so as my wife."

Ellen Adarna also shared a picture of the temple and captioned it with:

"grandma, mama, me, and, three generations."
