Netizen and lawyer Ms. Girlie Sagadal posted her emotional thoughts on how unfair it was for the international media to be focusing on the extra-judicial killings while President Rodrigo Duterte goes out of his way to help the poor.

She shared a news article on Facebook detailing how the president gave P100 million for the benefit of poor patients in the state-owned Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

In the caption of that trending post, Ms. Sagadal narrated how her son - an intern in PGH - saw an accident victim was brought to the hospital by strangers and treated with the money provided by Pres. Duterte.

According to the netizen, the patient is now on the road to recovery and has since been brought in the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). This was because no one came to claim the patient.

It was then Ms. Sagadal voiced how sad she felt when she saw how much Pres. Duterte cared for the poor while his detractors focus solely on the alleged EJKs.

“NAKAKAIYAK, that we have a President who deeply cares for the poor & all the intl press focuses on is the alleged EJKs.” Sagadal wrote.

Her viral post has since garnered 5.4 reactions and about 2,134 shares as of writing.

Many netizens seem to agree with Ms. Sagadal’s sentiments.

Wing Besilos wrote: “I'm so happy to read this. Free health care is really happening now in the Philippines!”

Joy Adona wrote: “Thank you PPRD, we continuously pray for your protection and good health.”

Stella Sait wrote: “Slowly but surely stories like this, straight from ordinary citizens vindicate us from all the negative press we have to defend. Thank you Atty Girlie for your story. I know and feel how much Digong loves the poor.”

What did you think of this netizen’s opinions? Do you think the reported 7,000 EJK deaths distract from the good the Duterte Administration has done?
