Pokwang is generally known for her funny antics and comedy-filled quips as her status in being one of ABS-CBN’s well-recognized comediennes. 

In fact, she has received the Best Comedy Actress Award in the Philippine Movie Press Club and the Best Female Comedian award from the People’s Choice Awards, an American award show that aims to recognize people and the work of popular culture that are voted by the general public. 

Pokwang’s comedy style is based on using herself as the subject of her own jokes rather than other people. 

In a society that often makes fun of others, this is a refreshing take on the humor approach, so it cannot be doubted that Pokwang is definitely one of the mass favorites. 

Apart from that, she doesn’t spout out green jokes, or make jokes that are inappropriate or s*xual in nature. During her early days in showbiz, she is also known to impersonate personalities such as Dionisa Pacquiao and Ruffa Gutierrez’s mom, Annabelle Rama. 

Recently, the comedienne appeared as a contestant on ABS-CBN’s new entertainment competition program called ‘I Can Do That.’ 

It was actually an adaptation of an Israeli show with the same name that puts celebrities in challenges, where they are able to showcase various entertainment acts within a one-week practice. 

In the April 29th episode, the comedienne was seen turning emotional when she appealed to “save” her from the eliminations.

The video was uploaded by ABS-CBN Entertainment and Pokwang was seen crying. The actress said, “Okay. Studio audience, dalawang anak ko ang pagbibigyan ko,” she began with a gesture of her hand. 

“Hindi niyo na po kailangan bumuto. ‘Yung isang anak ko, na dugo at laman ko, si May, mag-iinternship sa France this June. So kailangan ko siyang paglaanan ng panahon,” she cried.
