Teen Queen Kathryn Bernardo made waves when she released a video of her dancing to Ed Sheeran’s latest hit, ‘Shape of You’ last month but nowadays, she’s busy singing as well—-or so we thought.
In one of actress-singer Kristel Fulgar’s Instagram stories, it seemed that Kathryn was singing along to Bruno Mars’ "Versace on the Floor."
However, it was revealed by a source that Kathryn wasn’t actually singing, but lip-synching to Kristel.
According to them, Kathryn was on a break from taping the upcoming romantic-drama film ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love.’ It is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar and it would star the Teen Queen, alongside her partner Daniel Padilla.
Star Cinema reported that it’s the couple’s reunion project with the director after filming ‘Crazy Beautiful You’ in 2015.
Kathryn and Daniel would respectively play the roles of Gab and Dos in ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love.’
It appears that Kristel would be part of the film, as the source noted that Kathryn was with Kristel when she “sang” Bruno Mars’ hit.
Apparently, Kristel was the one who sang the song in a karaoke machine, while Kathryn was the one who lip-synched to Kristel in the background.
Kristel has worked with the Teen Queen before in ‘Goin’ Bulilit,’ in the remake of ‘Got to Believe,’ and in ‘Pangako Sa ‘Yo.’
She has also appeared in several episodes of the drama-anthology ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya’ and in ‘Wansapanataym,’ a fantasy-drama show.
Apart from this, Kristel also sang the theme song of ‘Mga Anghel na Walang Langit’ with Nikki Bagaporo and EJ Jallorina in 2005. She also lent her voice in Knorr’s commercial ‘Makulay Ang Buhay’ with the ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ kids.
