Despite our people’s ability to speak fluent English - thanks in particular to our "friends" from the United States - many Pinoys choose to avoid situations wherein their skill in the language is tested.

Some laugh off questions concerning English while others use the classic ‘nosebleed’ joke.

But when foreigners come to our country, we’re hospitable enough to speak in English in order to accommodate them.

A video highlighting the English-speaking ability of many Filipinos of different walks of life has gone viral.

The video was shared by Oncub.ph’s Youtube channel. The channel and the company bearing its name are owned by Andrew Lee, who created a business that teaches English to Koreans online.

According to the Youtube channel’s About page:
“Oncub Philippines' channel. Interested in Korean culture? Good at English? Looking for a job? We are hiring passionate Filipino online English teachers for Korean students!”

The channel is essentially an advertisement of this Korean company’s goal: to work with Filipinos with an exceptional grasp of the English language so they can teach Koreans online.

Don’t take our word for it, watch the video here!

Remember that English is like any other skill - you learn how to be better at it the more you use it.

What can you say about this video? Do you think your English skills are better than the people in the video?
